I have looked at past posts and someone who was having poor spool-up (LIKE ME) was told that he/she may have the "wrong D5" converter installed. I thought there was only "ONE" D5 converter for the GN. Are there others out there that are not correct for this car. Someone told me that as long as it is stamped "D5" all the way around, then it is the correct one for the GN. I am very confused! I am trying to chase down a slow-spool-up problem.

Some converters are stamped 'D5' and others are just stamped '5'. You have to make sure if it is stamped just '5' that it is original to a turbo car. Some of the 30 spline '5' stampings can have the 19 vane stator and be a 1611 stall and are 700/4L60 units (I have 2 of these). Just have to make sure it is a non molested unit to be sure it is the 14 vane stator and 27 spline unit for the TR's. :D

There are D5's with many different "K-factors" or stall speeds. Our GN's have the highest (or second highest).
