Art Carr 200-4R trans

Just saw that Art Carr has their Extreme 200-4R trans and billet converter on sale for quite a nice discount. Was wondering if anyone has one and what their experiences have been. With their sale price I'm seriously considering getting one now and stocking it away until the rest of my car is done.

Thanks - Greg

I have never bought there whole trannies, but I have bought there parts for the 200 4R. I wish I didnt, I would rather have Bruces or chris's Parts. The tranny probably have the muti pack Direct drum with regular frictions and kolene steels.

What didn't you like about the parts you bought (you can e-mail me if you don't want to post about it)? I have found out that there are two "Art Carr" companies, one in Calif and one in Texas. I'm assuming (dangerous, I know) that the Calif one comes from the old Fountain Valley people, but don't know any history of how the Texas shop came to be.

According to the info they sent me this is what's in the trans (below). The Raybestos Blue clutches are I think supposed to be pretty good, I don't know what their clutch drum mods entail or how it would hold up. I plan to call and talk to them in more detail to see what else I can find out.

Chris?...
We have a unwritten law in this forum. We do not post prices in here, except on diagnostic test equipment, and or service /literature manuals and of the such. This way, it is not a pricing forum. Alan, aka 6 PAKTOGO, implemneted this a long time ago. There used to be a stuck post explaining this but it went away with the board crash. This is nothing new. Maybe we can get him to retype it sometime and we will sticky it. You can ALWAYS put up a link to your site with the info, you want to convey or advertise, so to speak, just please refrain from posting prices in this forum . Parts for sale section is for that

Thanks for the info - Greg
