ATTN!!! water cooled turbo users

Here's one piece just for starters.....

Most factory turbos were done at 100K (oil leaks) which is still rather good compared to a lot of aftermarket equipment.

I'm not sure if the throttle body lines can supply a decent amount of water and flow, but they would be better than nothing.

If we are allowed to say that still.

Thanks for the info and the install pix Salvage. I'm going run the lines and all sometime because I feel that anything that can help cool the turbo in any way is a good thing.

just because the dual bb is sold with the water cooled center section doesn't mean it can't live just fine without it...we'll find out as that same turbo is on a race car now......without the water

(my 70 GTQ makes about 100 hp more than the 70BB and no water colled center section )

And just because the center section is optional on regular bearing turbos doesn't mean they can't live longer with that option.

Ain't logic fun.

My BB makes about 60 HP more than my GT wheeled PTE turbo at the same 24psi. boost.

I had the water from the manifold heater outlet to the lower rad hose....no big deal...braided line (no heater needed in AZ....)

I won't do it again.........

but if there are those that want to.....more power to 'em

thanks for all the help and the install pictures. i have heard from a few users that turbonetics quality is going downhill. i picked up this cheetah turbo for $50. i can have it totally redone with a water cooled center section for $300. $350 for an upgraded turbo on my car is not a bad deal. the water will help to make the turbonetics turbo last a little bit longer before i get a gt series turbo. i would like to keep the contents in the center section as happy as i possibly can so i dont have to worry about it. i just want to try this on my car. the next upgrade in a turbo probably wont have the water cooled center section.

turbo center section

ford used them on the pintos and the turbo coups. when i rebuilt them back in the 80 most of the time the only thing that needed to be replaced was the carbon seal. the rest showed no problems and most had over 100,000 or more miles on them. i rebuild the ford and gn turbos the water cooled center section, is the next best thing to ice cream...
