Okay looking to hear from people that have used these different carriers. Not interested in second and third hand accounts.....

Looking for pros and cons of each.

I will be ordering a 30 spline unit within the next couple weeks.

Get a new Eaton. Don't get used. I have broken 2 Auburns, one regular and one "pro" series. I also broke a used Eaton. I run a new Eaton in my 8.5 10 bolt and I can tell you it is much beefier than the used Eaton I tried. Get the special bearings too, the part numbers should be listed as recommended when you buy the carrier.

USE AN EATON CARRIER! AUBURN USES A CONE STYLE CLUTCH. IVE SEEN THEM SELF DESTRUCT!...EATON USES A FRICTION AND STEEL PLATE STYLE CLUTCH LIKE THE FACTORY..MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!

i have a full eaton setup with the good bearings and it's a beast on the street :) I was told by countless people to go with eaton so I did.

Just had an Eaton unit put in mine, did 28 spline Mosers during the original build up.

Haven't had it on the track yet but I roll raced a big block, supercharged, NO2'd up, purpose built Nova last Friday night on the way to a cruise in car show, poor little guy........:D ...... Never stood a chance.

He had at least 5 excuses when we met up at the show later.

The rear end felt GREAT!

Eaton here. Randysringandpinion.com He has everything you will need

I had a feeling you were one of those types.:D

Charlie, if I'm around and you somehow drop your keys, well, you'd better kick 'em all the way to the car......I'm jus' sayin'.....:eek:o_O:D

I used Amsoil with the GM additive.

I guess I'm the only one running an Auburn with 30 spline Moser's. Not a single problem in 15 years. Not like the old stock posi.
Should be noted, mine is Not a drag car.

Nope, your not alone. I've had my Auburn unit for 16 years with moser 28 spline axles and not one problem and also it's just used in a street car with regular store brand gear oil and posi additive. If i remember correctly i paid $250.00 for the unit from Jegs in 1996, money well spent i think.

Detroit Locker!
Just kidding - I've got an Eaton here also.
Friend of mine just bought a WS6 Trans Am with a Locker - wow that thing is noisy!
