Yup, posted about this myself, desktop and laptop same thing coming up. Does not happen on other sites I go to. Probably those damn google ads, what can we do to get rid of them. Hard to believe they actually generate any income for the board.

I don't know WTF is going on either... I just texted Jay to see what he can find...

Mark, it does make a big difference on the TB.com budget. It generally covers the update costs and various other charges we have monthly... This site costs me a little over a Grand a month to keep up:eek:

Is this ONLY with AVG installs? If so, it could be a false positive. I will run this through some of my test machines here at home.

Kaspersky is stopping recognizing it too...

I have "Mac OS X" and keep getting two separate "warning" messages each time I want to go to the next page. I have to click "ignore" them before it will allow me to see the next page...Same thing when I want to return to the previous one too!.....It doesn' t take very long to get on your nerves!!

Claude. :(

Starting taking donations. For those that donated, turn off the ads for their screen name once they log in. For ones that don't log in, keep running the ads. And for those that donated, you can put a status under their name. You can even have different levels of donations, IE: donate enough you become a life member, donate a less amount you are a supporting member. This is done on one of the diesel boards I belong to.

Start selling TB stuff to pay for the updates and other site related matters.

There's a whole host of weird things going on with this site that started yesturday.
First and formost, I somehow acquired a nasty trojan virus from here yesturday. Fortunately my Webroot made short order of it.

Also some really strange happenings; Before whenever I moved from forum to forum all i had to do was hit my down key to scroll down the page looking at post headers. Now If I hit the arrow key it might scroll a short distance and stop, mostly not at all (only site that does this). I now have to use the scroll function on my touch pad.

Also, when hitting the "back" button to get back out of a page, I now have to hit back twice. (again, only site that requires this)

I haven't seen the problem you guys are referring to however. Maybe my firewalls are helping in that respect.

But for sure, something really strange has hit this site over the last 24-48 hours, and it's getting scary.

Dave I'm also not seeing the virus problem. I'm using two different laptops which both have Trend Micro installed as anti-virus/firewall.

I'm with you on the scroll feature which is kinda annoying.

Got stuck working my regular job today. Symantec was going nuts earlier but seems to be stabilized now.

Like the donation idea previously mentioned. Sounds like a great idea to me!

Last nite my Bitdefender picked up the trojans.[3, AIRC]
Windows saw the threats and shut down.
Bitdefender quarantined them, for deletion.
Working OK this AM.

Someone hacked the site or something.I gotten attacked yesterday with trojans also. This sucks for all of us but something not right.

How many of those who had issues are also running java or have it installed on their machines? I know it is becoming one of the biggest attack vectors for viruses on the net. I tried this site with XP, Vista and 7 without any issues at all. I run f-prot and the XP machine had AVG 8.5 on it, I couldn't duplicate the virus/trojan so I upgraded it to 9, still no issues. Not one of my machines has Java installed. I am looking towards java as it is also on Apple systems and someone reported issues on a mac.

Is the problem gone for everyone?

I found where the code was injected and removed it. Im trying to determine now how it got in there in the first place so it doesnt happen again.

Thanks Jay. I was getting constant messages from Norton saying the trojan Bloodhound.Exploit.193 was attacking my computer. Seems to be normal now.

Well thats better now!!!! Every time I would look at a thread the damn virus post would pop up.Looks like the coast is clear now.
