Wow... I've always been a fan of the older Z cars. Just by chance I visited CarDomain today for the first time in a while and this is their featured car right now...

1971 240Z SCCA spec road car. Full hand built chromoly chassis, custom suspension, V-8 with TKO-600 trans, racing brakes, slicks - sacramento, California

I'm in love.

Thats so sweet.... and it can turn fast, not just go straight. There is alot of good work in that car, I give that a lot of respect.

And than had to ruin it by stuffing that SBC in it.

Back when I was in HS(class of 78) I had a 1971 240Z. I was King Chit! I wanted to race it in Solo2 but my parents wouldn't sign the waiver and I had to wait until my 18th birthday but by than the Z was gone having been replaced by a 76 TransAm with the 200 horse 455 and 4 gear. I spent every dime I made working at Burger King on it. Swapped in a 5 speed from a 260Z and bolted on a mild Erson cam with a brace of 3 Weber 40mm carbs and a tri-Y header. I dont know how fast it was but it sure sounded sweet once I got the jetting on the carbs dailed in.

If it was me and that car was mine I would have used one of those home market V-8 limo motors in it. Just like Paul Newman did back in the 80's and 90's. Maybe the V-8 out of a Titan?
