Damn, that is impressive! Would have sucked if after all that time and work, while cutting the wall out, the house above it collapsed. :)

That's wild. Wonder if he started the project and then realized there was no way out?

Wonder how long it took..I'm sure he could of bought a real one if he worked for min wage for all the hours he spent on that. But he is def veryyy skilled.

Believe it or not most don't. I've seen several people that decided to make a boat in the basement and after building them they had to do some drastic work to get them out.

The funniest one was a guy that built a twin mast schooner and built a barn to work on it in. After he finished it they had to take the barn apart to get the boat out and hire a tractor trailer to haul it to the sea. LOL Talk about a brain fart.

I work around Lambos, Ferrari's, etc all day long.

I can tell you from the pics the his car is built WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY better than the real one.

Contachs were smoking piles of ****!

This cars build quality looks way better than Lambo.

Very impressive skills and perserverence.

Did you notice in the one picture that there is a garage behind the house??

Wonder how the house smelled after a night of welding or painting in the basement?

Mad skills.

I was expecting to see a fiberglass body, over a Vee Dub chassis. Not a one off frame, with aluminum panels, formed with an English wheel. Every Contach kit that I've ever seen, used a flat windshield. It looks like this guy built the car around a real Contach windshield, with compound bends.

Cool story. Where does this guy live?

that is sweet!! good for him for pursuing his dream..

note to self: if ever wanting to build something very large and hard to disassemble in basement, don't use a poured foundation. it will make life much easier.

Heck!
Maybe he should have just kept it in the basement. No bird crap on it, no speeding tickets, no people wanting to borrow it (at least, not to go far), Should be cheaper to insure. Most of the guys that own these cars don't drive them anyways.:D

Fist off, TurboTguy,,, You Suck!!!!:p

Man, that's just Awesome! I love seeing all the homebuilt hero's!

The pics left me with a few question's and comments tho.

It appears that he must have purchased a front suspension. Is that Lambo? Not that it matters.

It's kinda sad that so much bondo needed to be skim coated over a hand formed body. I woulda thought he'd be able to shape smooth it after forming it!
Regardless, the end result is spectacular!

Last, I wonder what sort of booboo took out the windshield that was in it in the basement photos? Even the blanket is depressed there in the pull-out pic!

Thanks for sharing that!!!!!

I'll reciprocate with another craftsmanship site.
You'll love these handbuilt beauty's too!!!!
