Broke my replacement last weekend!
Lasted about 3 months and 1 battery replacement. Granted the sucker does not fit well over the autozone battery same as the sticker which was pretty much identical. I doing something wrong ???
Dang things are expensive and with the brace over the battery it's not going anywhere so I might say to heck with it !

Perhaps your AutoZone battery is not the correct size? I have a relatively new AZ battery in my Cutlass and it is retained and fits just like the AC Delco battery in my GN.

It is the one they listed for it. 78D I think it was anyway .
If I remember correctly I had a battery that was to tall to use the hold down. Under the battery on the tray are a couple of nubs that the battery sits on. I believe I ground them off so the battery sits a tad lower.

the car originally used a 75 series battery
the 78 series is a larger (wider) battery (the d is just for dual terminal ..has top and side terminals)
to use the 78 you need to grind down the molded in tab on the fender liner where the battery sits , its a nub thats designed to keep the smaller 75 battery from sliding sideways . looking from front of car is at the right corner

if you didnt remove the nub the battery will sit too high (and crooked) to properly install the battery hold down

hello; My most recent bat. I got has both side and top posts and the brace did not fit flush. All I did was add a thick washer to the hold down bolt under the brace.
Probably a bad explanation but it should get my point across.
