I think we all know who builds the best converter for our cars, but on a tight budget FOR NOW what would you go with 9x11 or art carr. I'm looking for around 3600 stall just trying to get the car running someday. thanks

hmmmm.. battle of the "converters"... combination of stuff is what somebody needs . not just a converter . 3600 stall ?? what are YOU running for a combo ??? what kind of times ya running ??

3600 stall?

Would like to get the best 60ft possible without t-brake for now. Not running any times, will be thrown off track. Camshaft has 224@.50 lift 570 with 1.6ratio. Heads are ported m/a's, block is a slightly wounded(needs welding, water leaking at crack between freeze plugs, every one is afraid to weld it up(real stage 1 block). Car is at full weight. t66 with waste gate on stage11 stainless headers, delta gate on 2 1/2'' crossover . Flaring Tranny needs work, 4.1 litre .010 over, bgc intake 60 pd. injectors, still needing more fuel, hope this helps. Your advise is well taken, thanks

T66 journal brg or ball brg? Alot of them are ball bearing. That is alot of converter for that turbo with those cubes. I ran an art carr n/l for along time. They do slip alot up top unless you can spin it past 6500 rpm. You definately need more fuel. And You really need to keep it off the tracks if it leaks antifreeze. At least put straight water in it.

It is a turbonetics older style journal bearing with wastegate mounted to the exhaust housing. BGC downpipe. This is all an old combo that works, just trying to keep it alive, more$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Art Carr 19930

Hi, I've got the exact converter you need in the Parts For Sale section... check it out. Thanks, Scott

John, did you go to Dusty's converter? What didn't you like about the cpt, also the car in your sig has a t-brake or not, just curious, thanks. Also Scott, I saw your converter for sale but Conley has a brand new one for $100 more. Undecided?

Yes I did go to the PTC. The Art Carr was fine but did slip alot up top. Like i said they really need rpm to couple. Everything aside I went just as fast with either converter. The PTC seems to spool easier & gets alot tighter from 5500rpm up. Yes I launch off a transbrake every time.
