So I just got a 87 GN this past week, and just before I got home from my inspection the car starts acting oddly. Upon arriving home I notice that my tensionor pulley is right against my A/C pulley.
Does this mean that I need a whole new belt tensionor, and if so where can one find one?(neither advanced auto or pepboys has them)
I tried searching for the answer and couldn't find a similar topic.

Thanks in advance for all your replies

I agree with Nick. Same thing happened to me and my belt was too small. I went one size smaller than stock as well as a new tensioner because mine was making noise and worn. Looks nice and clean now

I replaced the belt last night(with a stock size belt) and the tensionor still falls against the a/c pulley.

Would a smaller belt make the tensionor stay up? It seems as though the tensionor has too much tension!!!(is that possible?, is there a spring that would hold it the other way, a little or some other mechanism??)

What is a part number for a smaller belt?

The belt holds it in the proper place, ASSUMING stock brackets are in their proper alignment.

Stock size belt is 1618mm. Use one from GM, others seem to vary.
