Best headers and down pipe

Was wondering what the best set of headers and down pipes are? heard a lot about TA exhaust and was looking for feedback. would like to get rid of the old down pipe and like to get a very good reputable set of headers. was also looking for a test pipe and exhaust as well. any input or opinion is greatly appreciated. thanks,

TA headers are nice, they make a stock style replacement as well as a race version available in mild or stainless. The Pypes exhaust is a great buy. Cat back in stainless. You will have to find a cutout from a vendor. Downpipes come up for sale now and then, other than that check the vendors and see what you like.

i just picked up the RJC 3" down pipe with the test pipe. I have not put it on yet,but man it looks well built.

Both the downpipe and exhaust are very nice pieces. Just bought both from him for a GN .

thanks guys. i plan on buying headers for stock heads for now until i upgrade to champion aluminum heads. i am in desperate need of replacing headers and down pipe with that cat back exhaust. hoping for next month to take the plunge and get a decent exhaust.

Are your stock headers junk? I mean these things are not cheap. To buy one pair for stock and another for aftermarket could save yourself some cash by just holding into stock for now. Not sure of your goals are for the car. Stockers can take you into the 11's pretty easy so can the DP. Not trying to steer you away , just giving some other info maybe put money elsewhere until set up needs those mods. That's where I'm at. I'm springing for alky. I'll get DP and exhaust after. Like I said this is my opinion. Like others said keep an eye out for vendors and for sale section. Even craigslists has brought up some parts for me. Good luck.

I personally seen stock headers in the high 9s consistently , have them inspected for cracks get a good welder if their defected and bolt them back up and go..if you have $$$ to burn TA's would be my first choice imo...

i did a lot of major work to my car(alky, new turbo, angle IAC, valve covers w/ breathers and lt1 mass air w/ translator). my headers on the car currently are postons, which are all rusty and have developed a leak. my DP is a TH which has seen better days. my plans are for a exhaust from front to rear and a new aluminum radiator w/ water pump and hoses. hopefully i an squeeze some champion aluminum heads or at least some iron heads.

A clean pair of stock manifolds will def get you in the 9's , if you can find em clean . But if you are to go after market TA headers the way to go , worth every penny , call nick for your needs .
