How does the radiator box in kit work exactly? Haven't seen that before. Do you have to drill any holes in the radiator support? Is it designed for those who have a front mount and say an f-body radiator? What if you are not running A/C on the car and have no condensor in-between the front mount and rad? I'm trying to figure out the best way to get airflow this way and was interested in how this setup would work. I'll be down in BG all week.

Hi Don!,

Stop by and see us, we will be there setting up on tuesday. In the meantime here are some answers..

1) It works by routing 100% of the air that comes through the grill into your radiator = Better cooling, Lower temps.

2) NO DRILLING OF HOLES NEEDED! ;)

3) If you have a front mount I/C you will need to do some notching with snips to get it to fit! I would have done that already if there wasn't 40 different types of front mounts & external coolers... ;)

4) F-BODY Radiator? That has no bearing on the Air Box-in kit at all cause the box-in kit goes in front of the radiator.

5) No Condensor? Not a problem either, As the box-in kit mounts to the core support where the "X" braces are mounted to. (Those rod type braces that came stock on the cars)..

See you there!

Awesome! I think I'm going to pick one of these up down there. Is it black painted or powdercoated? Looks like it is powder.

Don It's pre-coated from the factory who does the big sheets of aluminum. Not sure if it's Paint or Powder, It's strong like powdercoating thats all I know.

The car is loaded on the trailer and we are ready to head out first thing in the morning..

See you there!

Radiator Air Box Kit in Mat Black

Hey Scott,

Am interested in the Mat Black Radiator Air Box Kit.....looks very similar to the old ATR Air Box Kits?

Will you have this in Matt Black at Bowling Green?

I won't be attending this year, but may try and find someone local who'd be willing to bring one back to Ontario.

thx.

Hi Dave,

The Matte black ones are done by order only so if you would like one you can go ahead and place your order on our site then just let me know by e-mail or PM that you want it in the Matte black and it will only take a day or two longer to make than normal.

If you have a U.S. address for me to ship to that will also work.

These are alittle better made than the old ATR ones! Thicker, Nicer finishes and better mounting hardware.
