Is that the 1987 Indianapolis 500 Winning car that was driven by Al Unser?

Yes it is.
These cars were being juiced up (having fliuds put in them) and after a long process of turning the motors over with electric drills, about a milion checks and tests they are started and run for about 10 minutes.(with a couple of little high RPM revs just to get the guys in the rest of the shop worked up) Believe me, everybody stops what they are doing when one of 'em fires up.
These cars usually sit in the Penske Racing Museum here on the campus I work at with about 25 other cars, all of them race winners, most are championship winners.
Every couple of years the museum guys roll 'em over to the shop (in shrink wrap) give them a good once over, fill them with fluids, fire them up and then a select part of my team goes over them with a with a fine tooth comb and does any cosmetic work that might need to be done. It's quite a production and is usually a 3 day thing for each car.
Me, I'm in charge of the reconditioning arm of the entire operation. 14 dealers on one 45 acre campus.
And no, I don't EVER get to sit in them, I'm not that high up on the food chain. Besides, we would need a shoehorn and a drum of vaseline to make me fit.

Although I did talk them into letting my son sit in a couple of them when he was younger.
Yes, it's a great place to work.
