So are you guys saying the V2 can become a bottle neck? I thought my IAT were OK at the trap?

Anything can be a bottleneck if you go fast enough...I don't know how fast your car is, but a V2 will go faster than most of us will end up going.

Thats what I thought. The guy I got it from was faster than me. He went to a Cottons.

Whew yall had me scared for a minute i got a V2 a couple months ago havent installed it yet tho.....

I had upgraded my car from a stock ic with the Dutt. neck to a CAS V2-it was the best money I've ever spent on a car:D I put it on my 86 GN on a cold March night and went out hunting...absolutely destroyed a Trans Am that night. My Buick felt like it gained over 50hp. Even in the summer it cools down somewhat fast after a run.
I would need stronger motor to support a big enough turbo to outgrow it.

My question is what convertor is everyone using? I have a 3200 Vigilante and it's very slow spooling upto 5psi. I've been chasing othere issues all summer and will post up how fast i go tomorrow.

Cal, I believe there is around a 2psi difference in pressure drop at the higher boost levels between the V2 and the bigger Cottons (a chart is out there somewhere). V1 has a similar core size to Cottons.

Anyways, I'd be curious what the test car would do without the intercooler and a ton more alky at the higher boost levels. It really wakes up the turbo.

I cannot get this turbo to spool off the line! 3200 Vigilante convertor. Foot break or trans break it takes forever to get 5psi. Then it just sits there.

My times today
1.86 60ft
7.50 1/8th
97.46 mph
11.55 1/4
119.91 mph

What am i doing wrong?

Mine was a PTC that stalled at 2800-3000 rpm. Slow to 10 psi but flew from there. This turbo, with the .85 Precision housing is like the younger brother of the 70 GTQ in my opinion. It acted very much like it but didnt seem to make more power at matching boost levels.I would say it needs 3600 on a real 8.5:1 motor and some timing or a lean A/F to make it pop off the line. It seems to work well for guys over 9:1, stroker motors and killer head/cam combo cars. Might want to try to pull fuel down low or up the timing, or a combo of both.Chip car? If so which one?

If you have a F.A.S.T or BS3. I cant help you since you didnt buy if from me:tongue:

It has the .63 housing.this is a stock head, stock compression motor. I'm running a Turbo Tweak chip with Alky.
