@14 lbs of boost showing 2.3-5.6 knock 2nd gear/3rd gear on SM with 93 octane BP pump gas, just shortened wastegate rod to try to tune boost to chip since TT has set up for 18lbs of boost, I have it set to my autometer boost gauge reading. Before I shortened rod I did about 3 turns so I guess I was originally at 11lbs and no knock, so my question is should I worry? turn boost back down to 11lbs? or become a alcoholic? or all three? Thanks

About 14lbs is probably good for no KR. I was running 14. Do you have an actual boost gauge or is this the factory one? What is your fuel set at with the line off? O2's at knock point?

Zack

I have a boost autometer gauge and I do show kr when I shortened rod(14lbs?) but no kr before that11lbs), 43 line off, O2's I think high 700's but when I saw kr I keep eyes on that almost the whole time so I will have to see O2's next time I drive

Your looking for O2's in the 800-820 range running pump gas. With alcohol 780-800 would be more like it. You might need to add fuel in the TT chip @WOT to bring your O2s up. Your fueling is fine at 43 line off. Changing the fuel settings are very easy.

Thanks I will have to check my readings for sure on O2's and add fuel if need be, Thanks

Wow... 14psi & that much retard?

First off check the o2's WOT 3rd gear, then check the BL on your Scanmaster & see what the long term fueling is doing & report that number.

I'm suspicious of how accurate your boost gauge is. Eric's (TT) chips are normally good for 16-17 PSI on 93.

Another member on here is/was having knock retard issues with OK 02 readings, and the stock MAF was suspect. I see you have an LT1 & Translator setup though. Again, see what the o2's & BL are showing, and report back. A vaccuum leak is possible too.

will check out wot o2's 3rd gear and bl #'s as far as boost gauge goes I thinks its ok shows about 20hg at idle then it was showing about 11-12 psi before I adjusted wastegate rod now it shows 14-15psi so will have to make sure its reading ok I guess. I will drive car and make sure all #'s are in spec and post results

try putting vpower 93.. i rarely have knock on WOT but ive noticed that when i use bp i see knock? maybe its just a koinky dink..but i try and stick to shell or chevron.. i have small injectors 30#'s with alky injection and i cant pass 15-16 psi without seeing some knock even with perfect o2's on 3rd gear roll

I will try that fuel, my plugs are definitly delcos, cr43's I believe I went through a bunch of plugs and different gapping scenerios a little while back with a troubleshoot so i will have to pull and verify gap

The suggestions given are for actual knock and not false-knock due to tire spin, etc. Is the knock momentary?

First off...at 14 PSI with Erics chip on the default setting...you shouldn't be seeing knock. Now...is your fuel pressure rising with boost? Example...with your line off fuel pressure set at 43 PSI...at 14 pounds of boost you should be seeing a minimum of 57 PSI of fuel pressure. Are you?

Not momentary knock and dont think tires are spinning, and yes FP is rising1 to 1 with boost

I second the need to look for vacuum leaks.
Soounds like a similar problem on another car. The leak was was at the aftermarket vacuum block and the screw in nipples were comming out. there was a bad leak on the block nipple which was connected to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. fixed the leak, knock gone.
CR-42s plugs gapped at .030-.032 are my plug/gap recommendation. i also second seeing low 800s on the Scan master under full boost, 3rd gear.

havent had time to mess with car yet but I guess if I turn up boost better add some fuel (duh) makes sense, will take car for a drive check all #'s and do any adjustments if makes sense to do so.
