im runnin 13-15 pounds of boost on 91 octane and thinking of using an rjc boost controller for the quicker spool up.. For this tame amount of boost will there be any noticible change in the spool up??

Probably not worth it. Spend the money elsewhere or just save it for gas.

that answers it...untill i get an alky thats when ill hook one up.Thanks

Definitely get an Alkycontrol kit on there before you do anything else.
They are pretty straight forward to install.

You're not too far from Lou Czarnota's shop for anything you might need help on www.turbolou.com

For what it's worth I installed an RJC boost controller on my 23 psi car and saw hardly any difference in spool up. But others swear by them.

Make sure your WG rod is set tight enough to realize the benefit. If its set too loose, the WG may still start sneaking open before you want it too even with the RJC on there.

My my old TA61 spooled pretty well with the RJC controller on it.

With my new 6265 DBB, I left the RJC off of it for now becasue I did not want it spooling so fast that it blew the tires off.

Ok...if I remember right, I was told to set the adjustable wastegate to 17 psi and then use the RJC boost controller to up it to 23.

Should I set the adjustable wastegate rod to something like 20 psi and then use the RJC for the last 3...?

Give it a shot.
Maybe your WG actuator is worn, puck aint sealing all the way, or you could have another issue/restriction hindering spool.

On my TA61 and non-HD actualtor, I had the actuator set at about 18 and then used the RJC to control it above that range. Seemed to work pretty good.

Nope.. plus messing with a boost controller on bad pump gas is a sure recipe to hurt something.

Say it this way, I get a customers car in for an alky system. we install it.. and start shortening the rod to get more boost out of it.. once the rod is bottomed out..."THEN" we go to the boost controller to get higher numbers.

Not put boost controller on first.. have boost spike and get KR.. then put alky.

Some cars get results.. some dont. I think its great to give you that little extra bump over the the top to get the turbo spooled.

The instructions for the RJC boost controller say to set WG rod so that there is only 1/8" "pull" to attach to linkage. Then dial up boost on the boost controller. FWIW.

I see..alky definitly first so that way i can safely turn up the boost..Within the next week or two im going to purchase the kit..

I never ran more than 15psi on California 91 octane. Would have to agree with others above.

If i did want to raise the boost running 91 octane and the mods on my sig would an alky kit and alky chip be the way to go?? I would like to run about 17 to 20 lbs as long as i can safely do it...

You can use a regular street chip with the alky. And.. if you have a TT street chip and latter want the additional timing the alky chip has... Eric can at least know whats in the car works. Meaning you try and not do too many things at once.. that way if there is an issue.. you have a way back.

Classic example.. someone does chip, injectors, fuel pump, tuneup, spring cleaning, power plate, alky kit, etc.. all of a sudden the car has a popping sound.. you dont know where to start

17-19 psi sauce is weak

21-23 psi is much better :D
