Here are the graphs I have to give you an idea what the 044 supports vs our other options.

Currently, I don't think there's a bigger pump we can fit in the tank so this would be the starting point which is why I did it. From here if you need more, you can always add another 044 inline or do a parallel with one from a sump.

Which is actually a cool idea, 044 intank and 044 off the sump kicked on off a hobbs.

The only 2 stronger pumps that I am aware of that could be used in-tank are also much more expensive ($400-$500 range).

One is the Bosch motorsports 413, supposdly a hand-picked 044 with higher relief pressure. I have not seen an actual performance chart.

The other is made by Apexi for the Nissan Skyline BNR32. Chart is here:

It looks like a great candidiate to get more flow by modifying the relief valve (if possible).

in tank

there is alot of talk about the 044 on a supra forum i`m on.The question arose about these pumps being ok for in tank use and some say they are not rated to be dumped in a tank and even talked to someone at Bosch about the proper usage for the pump.
Has anyone confirmed they are ok in the tank?
The pump itself is a stronger one than the supra denso ,some are trying already ,thats confirmed as they are running alot of high horsepower applications in the supra world .The question is for how long?
I`m very intersted in using it as apposed to a twin pump setup for the e-85 i`d like to run.

There's a Supra with two Bosch 044's starting right up. This pumps been used intank in the Import World for a long long time, we would've been using it too but the fitting and the tank cutting were two issues that made it very difficult to pull off, not any more.

Call Jayracing.com, he's been selling them as intanks for a while, or Titanmotorsport, they can comment on your concerns.

For an update, the cars been running great (aside from an alky pump wussing out) and after I get some exhaust leaks tightened up tomorrow I hope to be back at WOT a lot more.

BTW, I was noticing a slight E85 smell with the tank max filled at over 18 gallons, now that it's on F (not buried past it) the smell is no longer there, not even the vent breather I have smells.

Not sure how that would work in our tanks but the A1000 is a strong pump, not so hot though from 70psi. BTW, the Bosch 044 is a stronger pump than the A1000 from 75psi on, the modded one even more. The Vette guys are probably getting raped so Aeromotive can sell some pumps.

There is a new mod for the Bosch 044 that sends the volume way up, and the price is right for now.

It looks like it's up 30LPH at the 72.5psi mark, over the stock 044, which is important since most of us are 73psi of pressure at 30psi (43psi base pressure).

I think Im going to go this route and was wondering was there just not enough room to put a pre fillter on the pump I read why its ok not to but I would like to have one just for peice of mind. If I was replacing my tank I would go for it but with my orignal gas tank Im worried the pump will be clogged.
I may have to order the upgraded pump wonder how far I can push these 80s with no alky and one of those pumps.

I don't know how many inches more the 044 sock extends down. I have the pumps inlet opening probably as close to where the stock strainer sat as possible and it was a pain getting the pump that high on the return tube.

If someone knows how much room is below the stock strainer to the dog dish, you'd have a better idea if it will fit. I have a feeling it will be smashed since the fitting used in the sock is pretty chunky.

I was actually thinking of going one step further and replacing the original feed line with a new stainless feed line you could then weld you fitting to the new feed line and do away with having to clamp it to the return line. I was also thinking I would try to add a larger 3/8 line for the return. Doesn’t make much since for me to upgrade to -8 and then leave everything stock at the tank.

Ideally someone would make us a newly designed sending unit but I don't think it's going to happen. Most of us mod the feed and return line ends with a -8 and -6 etc but I'm all for changing up the lines themselves. The Rheostat is the pain IMO but I'd like to see how yours turns out.

I even thought about switching to some thing like this to see if it would free up some space Sensor Gauge Accessory by SpeedHut. Im pulling the tank out first week on november to start my fuel upgrade so Im hoping I can come up with some thing.

my setup takes some fab. work

It appears everyone interested in this thread has fab. skills. I am using two 044 pumps but both are outside the tank. I removed hanger and fab. two 1/2 in. pickups with a homemade screen @ the bottom. Ran the solid lines out the tank and far enough forward to get AN adapters on. Mounted both pumps above the rear housing---8 AN check valve after each pump--- then into a Y--from the Y--8AN hose to a cartrage filter mounted along frame about half way front to rear. From there, 8 AN to fuel rail with a NPT coupling welded to end of fuel rail. Both pumps run straight off trunk mounted battery--one using factory signal --the other off adjustable Hobbs switch set @ 14 PSI. I once ran a fuel test but have since forgot how much it flowed in gallons. I do believe it was enough to support 900 + HP.

I think I only need one for now but I would like to add an extra pick up line to be able to add en external pump to later if needed. I may still just weld a sump on to the stock tank. I just wont seal it on the inside since e-85 seams to like to eat any sealer poelpe use.
