Hey guys how about a little encouragement for him....You will not find many 13 year old young men with the interest for cars and working on them. Most will have their heads buried in electronic games.

thanks scott i hate video games etc.

I have a really nice .30 302 with big valve world heads, roller rockers, "noisy" timing gear, Viper cam, etc. Has less than 50 miles on it! Built it for a 69 mustang. Installed it, drove it to the paint shop, back home, put a 351Windsor in the car and SOLD it! It is a REALLY nice engine that has been sitting in the garage for about 6 years on the stand. I go out and turn it occasionally just to be safe. Had a Dual quad intake for it but let it go a while back. Once you get to the point of needing an engine if this works for you give me a yell. I will let it go for about what I have in the heads! I have been done with FORDS for a long time. No hurry to sell it just letting you know there is a CHEAP one out here when you are ready. Good luck with your project!

i'll let you know

This outta give ya motivation young man:biggrin:

Have Fun!

Find a wrecked 5.0 and use that for a donor... throw a used gn turbo on it and have a turbo'd 302 w/ a 5speed:D may have to upgrade brakes if they are as bad as Mark says they are:eek:

People asked me "WHY!?" When I told them I bought the elky:mad: some people cannot see potential.

Friends Falcon Drag Car

This is a friend of mine's car. Check out the name on the side "Endangered Species" That's a good reason WHY?

IMO ford exploder motor and a s380 turbo with some sort of a auto trans and do the power tour with it! good luck with the project... Grumpy quit being so mean to the young ones :D

Falcons are cool little cars! The first "nice" car I ever had was a 63 1/2 Falcon Futura. I met a guy at a car show who was selling a built 289, so I picked that up and made that Falcon quite a runner. I surprised a lot of "bigger and badder" cars with my 'lil sleeper. :)

Good luck w/ yours!

Congrats on the purchase Korey. It'll make a good first beater while you hop up the Fiero. Just be careful and don't spread yourself too thin. Get too many projects and you may find yourself getting discouraged. Sometimes project cars need a lot of little things that you may not be able to see immediate results from and you end up feeling like you're not getting anywhere, especially if it is spread out over several cars. That should be a good one to learn the basics on after all it is a FORD (Fix Or Repair Daily).

This is actually a local car here in CT, have seen many times. nicely done period piece. I never said I don't like Falcons as my first car was a 66 but like the one being talked about it had two too many doors. :) I swapped in a 289 four barrel with headers, converted from the C-4 auto to a 3 speed manual trans and put in a Fairlane 8" rear after grenading the 6 banger rear. Was a good learning experience but sort of like throwing money out the window in the end. Didn't realize this guy was so young. Might be better off concentrating on one car, too many projects and nothing ever gets finished.:)

Guys lay off Grump, he was just kidding:p

I was ?? :p Lots of work .. and like others have said.. don't get to many projects goin at one time !! I KNOW this first hand!! Cars end up sitting then Dan gets in a "mood" and sells them

I have to agree with the Explorer 4.0 motor idea. Those are cheap and run pretty darn good even non turboed. Make it a budget car to have fun with!

This creampuff is the perfect car to learn on.

He's not going to lessen the value of the thing. It's not a rare, pricless car. I'm thinkin that he's going to have fun, while learning to work on cars. When he gets his licence, and all his friends are driving Hondas, he'll have the coolest sled on the block.

This car's got sole. I say, get a plan, and see what you can make out of it.

Congrats.
Let us know if you have any questions.

I agree with mike. I like the oddball cars. So what if nobody else likes it; As long as you do. Besides, why would you want to look like everyone else with a camaro, mustang or honda? Looks like a fun project. Good Luck with it.

tell me eric "why is it going to be really funny in a tragic sort of way"

Because I'm positive that you're going to move that car from the junk yard onto the front (or side) of your mothers house and that's were it's going to sit until it's hauled back to the junk yard. That and you've just put $200 down the drain.

I dare you to prove me wrong on this one. If you actually get that car road worthy I'll be in complete amazement and you'll have earned an entire new level of respect from me. Taking on the task of restoring a car like this is going to be a huge undertaking that'll take a lot of time and hard work to accomplish.
