I think I have a problem with my BOV . When I roll into the throttle and start building boost but don't go WOT , I can't hold about 10psi feathering the throttle without it blowing off as soon as I stop pressing the gas down ! I hope I explained it so you can understand , but it's frustrating to to hear it blowing off while trying to regulate engine speed . It's real noticeable while doing a burn out . It's a HKS 1421-sa001 BOV. Sam

I forgot to ask , is this normal ? Because I thought it should just blow off when backing out of the throttle almost completely . Sam

when you feather the throttle it creates some vacuum or a boost loss which will cause that style of valve to open until the boost goes back up. Also many cars have part throttle compressor surge which will do the same thing

Thanks Mike , after looking on HKS's web site and looking at their cross section & how a sequential BOV works , I'm going to see how far mine will come apart . It's been on the car for at least 7 years and it seems like mine is overly sensitive to even the slightest amount of " feathering " the throttle . Sam

When the throttle isn't wide open the pressure will likely be higher in front of the throttle blade which will act on the cross section of the valve
