CR F Transmission

I just bought a 87 GN that came with a CR F tagged trans. Is there any easy way to tell if it's been converted to BR F specs or something compatible with LC2 engine? Is it even possible to do that? A good local BR F has come up for sale but I don't want to pull the trigger if the one i have is good.

You could resell it if you don't need it. They are getting harder and harder to come by.
