I wound up going to a comp 953 spring set up with the gn1 heads, this is a bigger spring /seat/retainer but fit the gn1 perfectly and finally controlled the valves with the 212 roller

Is this too much for a hydraulic roller cam? 853 lifters? or 5/16" push rods?[/QUOTE]

I run the same TA springs on my SE heads with a solid roller and consistently shift at 6800-7000 and still pulling on a 9 sec. pass at 20 PSI or so. The rev limiter is set at 8000, and sadly have been there when the trans sprague let go? :(

Last I checked, my solid roller lifters are lighter than hydraulic lifters, and never had any issue with a GOOD 5/16" pushrod.
