Broke the hood latch. Its always somthing
Well I just got done converting the 85 GN over to an 87 ecm and MAF translator and my 87s old thrasher 92. I come back from the test drive, very pleased and pop the hood to install the boost gauge, well what do ya no the whole hood latch assembly inside the car snapped off, the platic pull thingy and the cable, geez if its not one thing its another. Is it really hard to replace? and does anyone know how much a new one cost. I guess thats what 255000 miles do to a car. Thanks a lot.

255,000 wow i thought mne was high it has 196,000 on it now.

pull the wiper motor out and it will make it easier to get to were the cable comes thru the firewall.

Thanks guys I was thinking it would be easy, it just stinks because I got all the mods from ups yesterday, and then now I got to fix this. Yeah 255,000, my dad has owned it since 87 and put a lot of hard miles on it. Its really sad because the 85 seems to be a little bit more solid, campared to the 87(mine) and mine only has 103,000 miles. Oh well I love them both but these hot airs are a lot harder to work on.
