Hey do any of you own or use the the SO CALLED low priced $30 to 100-portible bubble balancers?

ANY good?

It is getting Dam expensive to bring rims to a tire shop for balance. With my fleet of cars I think I should buy a bubble balencer & weight kit.

look around !

I bought a new style tire changer ( touchless) for $300, as it wouldn't do 22in rims ( from tire shop)
and I also bought a snapon digital balancer for $200, ( on E bay)
so to heck with the tire shops! LOL:D

In the early 90's my local mechanic only had a bubble balancer that they used to install a couple of sets of Dunlop D40M2 tires, $$$$, on my American Racing wheels with for the WE4.

Never had a problem with them.

They now have a snap-on tire machine that works very well also.

Can't say I went over 80mph too much however on the street, excepting racing at the track, never a vibration even at 114 mph there.

I used to use one of these when the regular balancer went down at the SCCA meets at Texas World Speedway. Vipers and Twin-turbo Porsches going about 180 never complained, as long as it's done right, which isn't hard.
