I have a deep trans pan but still overfilled it to the first bend in the dipstick (hot reading). Before driving the car (cold startup), its about 3/4 betwen the hot and cold marks.

Did a bit of searching to try to find info but not much on bubbles in the fluid. Google searches tell me that the fluid is either too low or too high. Should I not be overfilling with a deep pan and bottom feeding pickup?

Psi gauge will give truth on if the pump isnt getting what it needs. Vs bubbles

Drained off about half quart and bubbles are going away. Will probably drain off a little more tomorrow.

Over filling with a deep pan & bottom feed P'up isn't needed. Fluid is probably getting aerated from contact with moving parts.

Follow up to this... Drained another half quart or more but ended up changing the fluid to Mobil 1 synthetic from Castrol Dexron VI. Fluid change (and the right level) solved the problem once and for all.
