I have some nasty bugs baked on my GN. It has a nice finish and I want to get the crap off without adding swirls or hurting the clear coat. I do drive my car a lot. I use a pressure washer and a leaf blower so I minimally touch the paint.

I have heard the claybar method will work but will add swirls.

Yes, it will work. I went through a similar issue as my car came out of the shipping process (sent it from NH to HI via semitrailer and boat). It was caked in bugs-- no really-- caked. And they were all on the "rear facing" vertical surfaces. Apparently my car made the trip backwards. Sideview mirrors covered. Rear glass looked like velvet. Trunk lid, tails and rear bumper were all buggy.

After a handwash, with some pressure washing, there was still a good amount left. I took several microfiber towels and soaked them in water. Then I laid out the towels in sheets to maximize coverage to try and rehydrate the bug guts. That worked pretty good.

Followed it up with a good claying session and another handwash. Good as new!

Try baking soda. Mix it with water and lets it sit then rinse off. Works great
