Hi,
I'm new to Turbo Buicks, just picked up a 79 Turbo Regal, one owner, 122,000 Km, been sitting in a garage for 24 of the past 25 years, body and frame are in extremely good condition (no holes), interior is in good condition, needs a head liner. Doesn't currently run, I'm told it has starter issues. Hasn't run for 10 years, but rolls over by hand. I'm a little baffeled when I open the hood, whats all this stuff. So I'm going to be looking for some help.
I do a lot of hanging out a V8Buick, because of this addiction.
Thanks Bruce

welcome to turbo buick. nice car does it have a drawthru turbo setup? post some pic of the motor. you may want to go over to the before black section to learn more.

Hi,
Yes it has a Q-Jet carb, definitely a hot air car. I finally got under it today, looks like the starter is stuck, it's low on coolant , could be from just sitting , but one frost plugs looks to have been leaking.
Thanks Bruce

We have a long way to go LOL, first to get running, then certified, insured and plated., oh and 2 appraisals, one for owner transfer and one for th insurance company.

I was under it looking up at the starter, thinking who put those transmission lines there and looking for holes, can't find any.

the dark side thing is that all GN's are black.
what trans does it have the 350 or a 200r4 in it?

I'm assuming it's got a th350 in it. I'm going to have to check:biggrin:

I had to put it on the back burner, I have a 71 Electra I'm parting out, I sold the 455, so I have to pull it.

nice, if you dont mind me asking how much did you sell the 455 for?

I haven't sold the 455 yet. I usually get $500 for a good running Buick 455 c/w tranny, this one going to need work. I looked at this Electra 2 years ago and the oil pump was leaking. The owner wanted way too much money for it then. It's been sitting in a barn for the past 8 years. The oiling problem is still there. It currently lacks enough oil pressure to satisfy me. Weather it's the oil pump or deeper problems I don't know.
thanks Bruce
