hello; There's alot of truth in this statement but I'd like to add IMO some bolt on add ons will help the stock setup. Also (as I said before) cumming to this site will get you to spend more on your car than you might want. There's alot of good stuff here but it can get in your head and it's been happening to me. Learn about your car and don't do too much at once. But what your doing is what should be done to a car that's new to you. Also if the parts your interested in changing still look good and the car runs good leave it alone ans drive it as cars have there own personalities...

There's a LOT of truth in his statement. My personal experience is a good example. I've got two GN's.... My 86 (175,000+ miles) is somewhat modified, and raced all it's life. Lot's of money in go fast parts, repair of broken parts, on and on and on.

My 87 (135,000+ miles) however, is still relatively stock with the ONLY mods being a TA49, blue tops, and a Full Throttle/Bob Bailey Commander chip (down the quarter mile only once in it's entire life). Engine has never been opened, still runs perfectly, will blow the tires away at almost any speed. Perfect inside and out. Can drive it anywhere in comfort.

Here's a list of repair parts over it's entire life (not counting normal maintenance like oil, brakes, tires)

One powermaster pressure switch
Two powermaster accumulators
One new set of seat covers
One paint job
