Burned the 2nd gear band up in short order trying to get trans to downshift into manual 2nd.

When shifted into 2nd the car will nose over (like in moderate braking) but will not engage into gear.

Trans would shift perfectly when shifter in OD or D.

2004R, Dual feeding the clutches, electric trans brake.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

HOW

Crossleak somewhere.
Servo seals is where I would start looking, 3rd gear oil could get by the seal and try to apply the band.
Leak at the VB brake, if it is leaking oil by the solenoid into the 3rd circuit all the time...

Band clearence too tight? I know Bruce(PTS) recommends .030 and the rest shoot for .060. Not sure why this is.:)

If

It works perfect in D or OD--up shifts and down shifts as it should--I be looking @ the VB since there are some passage work that they do for the electric brake. Far as I can help because I don't know what all is involved in the brake. Best of luck.

Check the servo inner seal {the bigger lip seal}

It should be pointing into the trans case, not out towards the servo cover.

The inner seal goes towards the servo bore
The outter seal goes towards the servo cover.

If the inner seal is on wrong,you will get a condition your posting about.
