O.k., here's the deal. I took the car out Monday afternoon to drive over to Maryland, but on the way home it started. You know what it sounds like when kids stick a playing card in the back spokes of a bicycle and ride around. Well, that's what my car sounds like when the thing is at idle in Reverse or Drive. If I put the car down in D3 it lessens, but it doesn't go away. It's really loud though in D and Reverse. The car seems to be pushing against the brakes a little when in drive also, not tremendously, but it's noticeable. I thought the converter clutch might not be unlocking, so I unplugged the plug on the side of the tranny. Didn't help, now I need some advice as to what this could be. The tranny still shifts fine other than this noise. It only does it at idle, so when I stop at a light or whatever in gear. When I take off it goes away, but as soon as I come to a stop it's right back again. It literally sounds like there is some plastic bottle caught up in the bellhousing and the teeth of the flywheel are attacking it. WHAT THE HECK COULD THIS BE!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I'm really getting tired of tranny problems every year and I do more driving than racing with this car. I don't understand what the deal is. Anyway, I was thinking that something came loose in the converter and it's not the transmission, but who knows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
