I REMEMBER SOME TIME BACK, YOU TOOK A 86-87 INTAKE AND INTERCOOLED YOUR HOT AIR. I HAD A SET OF PIX YOU POSTED, BUT MY COMPUTER TOOK A DUMP AND I LAST MY DRIVE. I HAVE NOTICED A LOT OF MUSTANGS (EEK:eek: ) USING CARB MANIFOLDS WITH ADAPTERS. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH YOUR "RED ADAPTER. I WOULD ONLY CHANGE THE END TO FIT THE THROTTLE BODY. PLEASE RE-POST OR EMAIL ME:
CWMCCRAY@BELLSOUTH.NET

BTW: HOW IS THE CAR? I BELIEVE THAT YOU ALSO PROTOTYPED THE 1ST AND ONLY CAS HOT AIR INTERCOOLER. HOW ABOUT A PIX.

THANKS

Are you looking for the pics of the motor on the stand or installed in the car???

I have since modified the "FJM568 custom upper plenum" a little...It is now ALL aluminum and fully TIG'D for no leaks!!! Was never able to get over 17# boost with the original upper, no matter how tight I cranked the WG rod...Shouldn't be a problem now...

I don't think you can fit a throttle body there and still have the turbo to IC tubing go over the top of it...There just isn't enough room...My turbo to IC tube right now rubs the hood insulator right there as it is...There thing with using the 86/7 lower intake instead of the TurboMotion setup is the 86/7 intake sits up higher than the TM setup because Jay used the stock 84/5 intake instead of the 86/7 intake...Plus, the cooling system plumbing is a little tight in that the radiator hose is located differently and the heater hose connection on the intake is located in a spot a little farther back on the 86/7 intake than on the 84/5 intake...

It was an interesting experiment to try but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone...There is a lot of custom fabricating to do and a lot of little re-working here and there that would have costed a lot of money to have someone fabricate for me, but since I'm a machinist and had access to a multi-million dollar machine shop, it was just spare time for me to make and/or modify the stuff...

Btw, the car is still apart, due to wiping a cam lobe, but is fairly close to being back together...Am in the process of fabbing up some other stuff and putting together some things a little bit differently than how it was before than wiped cam lobe, so hopefully will have it back together soon...Just a little too hot around here to work on the car(outside)...

Before the wiped lobe, it pulled 330hp/440tq on 92 oct pump gas and 16# of boost with a TA-51 turbo with PTE exh housing and 50# injs with a low timing Joe Lubrant street chip and the CAS V2 FMIC...

If you still want the pics, let me know which ones and I will try to find them...I have since built a new computer and replaced my hard drive, but still have some pics somewhere, but need to find them...Might still have pics of the CAS prototype setup somewhere, which was routed a differently than the way it is now...

With Jay's unfortunate incident, I am exploring my alternatives. I was really impressed :D with both the CAS setup and your use of the 86-87 intake. No one knows for sure if Jay will ever produce anymore intakes or kits  ? Please send pix of both if you can find them. I can feel your pain  , my Win 2000 server crashed...... F@#k Bill Gates.... Anyways, congrads on the dyno, I am :) sure there is plenty more:D

One other side note with my setup...It had 800 miles on it last year(2001) when the GSCA Nats rolled around...I really wasn't wanting to take a chance and drive that many miles but said WTH and did it anyway!!! ;) I ended up getting about 27 mpg on a fresh motor!!! Needless to say, my face had this look ---> :D As for the dyno, yes, there is a whole lot more than that in it, I just never was able to crank it up due to a few bugs with the custom setup and having to rework them(which I'm trying to fix those now as well)...

Yes, it is unfortunate about Jay's situation...It's too bad because he had a really great product out there...If I had to do it again, I would buy one of his setups, because I can tell just by looking at it how much time and effort was involved in the intakes and even if I did have the equipment to do that on my own, I wouldn't be able to make any money at it!!! (okay, maybe I would ;) , but there is a lot of work and time involved in doing it)...

Not sure, but I thought that Louie(remember him???), in Colorado, bought one of Jay's intakes, but ended up going with an 87 motor swap into his 84...You may want to check and see if he still has it, maybe he will let it go and sell it to ya...Something to maybe try...Ya never know!???!? ;) :p

As for my computer, it's not that the old one crashed, but I wanted to upgrade to something faster and swapped out a few pieces from the old one to the new one(hard drive wasn't one of the pieces)...Bought a bigger, faster drive and just started out fresh with it...Still have a lot of stuff on that old drive, but didn't want to start with a fresh computer with old drive to transfer the stuff to new drive to have computer configured with old drive also, then re-configured when I removed old drive(did that make any sense, or did I just confuse you like I just did to me??? :p ) I find that configuring and re-configuring really gets Windows completely screwed up and ends up crashing and locking up all the time after that...
