Not sure on the classic insurance, but, at least in Florida, multicar discounts are awesome!

Have them quote you on both cars, you may be surprised.

If you get classic insurance for it I dont believe you will be able to drive it daily. They have mileage restrictions.

i realize that, i will be getting a new t to drive daily and the gn will go in the garage......

Probably the best thing for you to do is to call around and ask them. My classic insurance requires the car be kept in a garage, which looks like you've gotten taken care of.

Call haggerty see if they allow it in your state. this is the basic rule for them. you must have at least one reg. car for every driver in the house for example 3 drivers 3 everyday cars plus (in this case) the GN. you have to be at least 21 and have a pretty good record. I am looking into a second car because as soon as i get one i will be getting them it should be under $500 depending on what you appraise the car for.

I'm 22 and I have hagerty insurance on the GN. Last year it was $375, this year it went to $750 for absolutely no reason, except that they are a bunch of crooks. I have no choice but to pay it, because it's still the cheapest and best coverage available to me, but when I can get something else to cover it, I'm leaving Hagertys. They claim it's some new surcharge for young drivers in the state of Kansas or something. I should wrap the car around a tree and make money on it just to screw them back.

I have classic insurance on my GN with Condon and Skelly (Met Life) and your daily driver must be 10 years or newer. I believe all the classic car insurers require that you have at least one newer car to be covered.

A statement like that could cause you lots of grief if someone was to pursue it [or cancel your policy?].

I have been with Hagerty for many years with good service and price. They must have missed your age before this renewal, as I know many other classic ins. companies do not even insure drivers/owners under 25 years old.

They knew it for sure. I called them when I was 20 and they said I need to be 25. Called them again when I hit 21 and they said they can do it under a new program they have for young drivers.

Although I was pissed about the rate increase, I was very courteous to the customer service guy I talked to on the phone. I told him my story, and he had to dig around a long time to find the reason for it. He agreed it was B.S. but said I'm basically screwed. I just sent the check out to renew it this week. Made my stomach weak. Thought about selling the damn car. All the money I saved by owning a fuel efficient car show/street cruiser just went to insure it, because statistically, I'm just as bad of a driver as the 16 year old girls around here who don't notice when they have flat tires.

If someone from Hagerty's wants to chase me down for telling the truth, by all means let them. Hope it gets as much attention as possible. They wouldn't cancel me, they're making too much money off of me.

well i called hagerty's and my annual premium would be 375. not too bad......so the myth that someone younger than 25 cannot get classic insurance is false....thanks for everyones input

I just bought my Collector Car Insurance through Mel Foster. They go through Secura insurance. I called everywhere and found that it is hard for a 23 year old to get insurance. I pay $200 a year and Im covered for $22k. I had to get a professional appraisal first. The appraisal was for $22k so that what they insured it for. Try looking up a Mel Foster insurance agent. ----Jeremy

i tried calling grundy's saturday but they were closed, im going to call tomorrow. im still going to shop around for the best price now that i know its possible for me to get it

incorrect.. At least on the mileage part. Grundy has NO mileage restriction BUT you are right on the drive it everyday part. You must have another car to drive everyday on any classic insurance policy that I have ever saw. And every one that I have seen is 25 or over..:(

I have Grundy and they are a local company (Willow Grove) and love GN's:). Im very happy with them

Frank, they will insure any age driver as long as you have another car under your own insurance policy......meaning it cant be under your parents. grundy quoted me 265 annually.

GREAT! and the LOVE GN"s and you can drive right to their office in Willow Grove if you want to talk. They paid my broken windshield instantly for my GN. Told me to go anywhere I wanted and let them call their office.. No problem. NO mileage restriction either.
