Can I bypass the boost solenoid?

I have determined that the chip is what is causing me to overboost because everything else seems to be ok.Can I just run the wastegate actuator straight to the port on the turbo housing without the solenoid until I get a chip burned? Do I need to use the "Y" fitting?

The easiest way I can think of to bypass it is to put a plug where the foam filter goes or plug off the line to the solenoid. Keep the electrical plugged in or you'll get the check engine light.
