Can I Run DS and PL from same laptop?

Tryed doing a search with no luck. If I run windows 98 on my sony PCG-XG9 laptop, can I run both Direct scan and powerlogger? It does have both a USB port, and the big plug to run Direct scan.

I don't know much about that sony. But I have Win98 on an old compaq here that will run DS and PL.
