Buddy races camero with Glide. Has a spare ATI with a 4200 stall on the shelf. Will that fit a 400 BOP? If so-He does NOT run a mid plate- I will. Does that 1/8" thick plate make a difference? If so- Can I compensate for it? Thanks Larry

Depends on

If the Glide has a turbo spline input shaft or not. If it has turbo splines you can run that converter, if it has glide splines you can't.

To make up the clearance of the mid plate, you can use grade 8 flat washers, or hardened spacers.

I thought it was just the reverse?

If you run w/o a mid plate, there will be no, or not enough, clearance between converter and flexplate.

We have run a Hughes 'glide converter in a TH 400.

Larry's Buddy Doesn't Run A Mid-Plate

But Larry will. So there will be more clearance between the flexplate and converter.:)
