Hey everyone, I'm trying to collect some parts to custom fab a MAF pipe. To connect the maf pipe to the turbo, I have a piece of 3" ID radiator hose to use as a sleeve. Can this take the heat, or will it have to get out of the kitchen? I know water temps in the motor can get pretty high, so it should be ok. I just want to see if anyone has done this before or if it's ok to do, it would be better to verify rather than melt some rubber on/into the turbo. Thanks in advance.

I know of one turbo and engine damaged by a melting plumbing hose used on the compressor inlet. It can get a lot hotter than the radiator.

I would suggest using nitrile rubber hose. That is what I use for the MAF pipes I sell. You can also use silicone hose but it really isn't necessary.

Thanks for the replies so far. I've heard that it's ok to use, and I've heard that it might not be.
