#1 might have been a possibility.

There is a DOS mode emulator for the pocket PC based handhelds, but I don't think there is a parallel cable interface for the ipaqs. If DirectScan used a serial cable instead of a parallel cable, I would have to say yes, it very well may work.

I believe TL has some interfaces for the hand helds. But no, direct scan can not use a serial cable. That would defeat it's speed advantage.
