Last night I installed a B&M shift improver kit . I was very surprise to find how clean everything was . My car has 125k on it. I just bought it a mounth ago. I don't know if the trans has ever been rebuilt. I was expecting to find the pan full of sludge but I didn't.

Is there anyway to tell if the trans has been rebuilt ?

Thanks
Jeff

Its been snowing and raining here all day so I have not been able to take the car out and try it yet.

Some rebuilders leave a proprietary mark, some don't...

The previous owner may have just been great on regular
maintenance...new fluids & filters, etcetera.

If so, the rest of your car also probably shows signs of care, also.

Sometimes you can tell by looking at the seals. The tailshaft seal has gone thru a few revisions sine the 80's. There are other clues, but they would require disassembly.;)
