Ok guys I've been fighting this problem for a couple of months.
The car won't pull pass 5150rpm. I've replace the following, plugs, wires, tried different coil packs, tested both my fuel pumps, replaced valve spring , check the cam for wiped lopes, ran extra ground wires.

Im not lossing any fuel pressure during a WOT blast. If I leave the car in drive and make a pass it runs ok, but If I make a blast in second gear and try to manual shift it, it won't pull pass 5150 accourding to turbolink. My O2 volt are anywhere from 750 to 812 during testing.

Im lost right now. Im not sure what to check next. Im thing it could be the converter.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Try to do it at less throttle in 1st gear, slowly add throttle. This way you will be at very little boost and you will have a better chance of hearing any problems.

I've done both. I run the car in 2nd and then manual shift it from 2nd to 3rd @ 5600, but it won't pull to 5600.

I had the same problem. My car would pull up @5100 and just stop pulling. The O2's read fine and I had plenty of fuel. It turned out to be my cci/coils. I don't know which was bad because I replaced both with GM parts. The cars runs like it should now all the way to the rev-limiter:)

What is CCI/Coils. I know what coils are but cci?

Would the car run fine on the botton end? What did it do when it stop pulling. Mine kind of acts like it has to much fuel and you can here it girgle (spelling) through the exhaust, but it's not blowing black smoke.

Thanks,

I belive that is the module below the coil.

I had one of those go before as well. But double check that.

JOHNZAZA,
I know what the coil pack and module are. I just never heard it called the CCI/coil.

Thanks,

Pretty sure cci=computer controlled ignition, maybe also =c3i but I don't know if that was another name for our module or not.

What happens when you hit 5100 rpm? Is it bouncing off a rev limit in your chip, where it dies until it falls back 100-200 rpm then runs again, or does it quit pulling hard but still pulls some so you can slowly go on up to say 5500, or does it just not go past 5100, or ... ?

ijames,
The car losses power & stop pulling. It doesn't pop or back fire like it's a ignition problem. It ask like it has two much fuel on the top end. It's hit 5000rpm and then it's like it start to bog and then it losses power and I have to let off. When I let off the gas and it goes into overdrive I can hit the gas again and go WOT and the car will pull big time, but of course this is in the lower rpm range in overdrive.

If it was the coil/module would the car pop like the ignition was going out?

Chris, Just a guess but have you tried a different computer ECM?

Why I ask is if the drivers for the injectors in the ECM are going you might see this problem.

Good Luck

I will try that Russ. Haven't tried that yet. I did cut a hole in the end of the filter, because I thought that might have something to due with it. I guess I need to take the whole fikter off.

Thanks
Chris

Chris

The coils sit on top of the CCI. I had the same problem. I tried everything. I even sent my Extreme Extender chip back to Bob to rule out that possibility. I sent all my DS files to him just so that he could see what I was talking about. The car would run @5100 at then sputter almost as if I was at the rev-limiter. I had new 72's, 340, etc. Some people say you can use any brand of CCI/Coils but my car did the same thing with brand X. I replaced them with new GM parts and it runs like should now. Just something for you to think about.

Hey Chris,

At your performance level, you should be changing your ingition module every two years, and coil pack every year. This isn't my advice but straight from Mike Kurtz. Just my two cents.

Good Luck

PS Just got the GTQ 70. Hopefully, I will go faster!!
