this is the second time in less than a year that my stereo, and things are stolen out of my car. Im numb, im so angry.. i dont know what to say really i feel like im at fault for not removing the face on the stereo.

They got the SAME freaking drill that they stole last time, I bought the same model to replace the one that was stolen, and heres the kicker, they stole my USMC issued gas mask, God knows how much that thing cost and if they will make me pay for it or not.

I was at the junkyard and they somehow unlocked my door and did this all in broad daylight with god knows plenty of people around. The junkyard people were assholes and wouldnt let me use their phone, didnt care, and generally made me feel they had something to do with the theft. The cops of course were gonna take 2+ hours to show up so I drove to the police station to file a report.

Southern california is the ****tiest place on earth this is what happens when you have all kinds of people coming in and out of here undocumented.

Im tired of being a victim, I think my next purchase is going to be a .45

You should go back to the junkyard and pretend to look around like normal. Instead, bring a video camera and hide somewhere that you can see your car. Maybe you'll catch one of the junkyard guys doing it.

Maybe have a friend go in and ask if they might happen to have some of the items for sale that were stolen, like the stereo. It has a serial #, so you can track it. Sorry about your luck, when I lived in Indianapolis the security gaurds paid to protect our stuff stole crap out of cars all the time.

I really enjoyed when they messed with the wrong guy one night and he kicked the crap out of the gaurds. They tried to pull him over (illegal), he didn't stop, they bumped him, he got out and made them very sorry. Afterwards the gaurds were busted for the crap they did, justice was served for once.

I know the heartache... I had my k5 blazer broken into while I was out of town. My wife drove it to the mall and while she was in Ross, someone broke the pass window and ripped the stereo out of the dash - completely tore up the dash.

I found out from the police that they have like ten break-ins a week there and at times, up to 5 in a day. ALL in broad daylight in a PACKED parking lot.

Here is what I want to do:

Fix it and put in a new stereo. Have my wife drive it there with the stereo blaring and park it while I have been laying low in the back seat. Have her get out quick so they know she did not remove the face and lock it up as usual. Then, when the sucker busts my window and gets in, unload a fully auto paintball gun on his a$$... aim for the face - you know :)

yup, that would probably change his career

hehe... I really want to do that.

Get an Alarm. They're annoying, ineffective and people sometimes ignore them, but since EVERYONE has that attitude, a thief will usually bypass your car for the 10 other cars that don't have one.

Chop the faceplate off of a factory radio and make it flip-down with your real radio mounted behind it - or just mount it somewhere else and leave the factory one in.

Keep your car as empty as possible - It's a car, not a closet. If you keep your 'ride' looking sweet all the time, that's a pretty good invitation already - no need to add to it.

ALWAYS hide tools. Tools are the same as cash - you wouldn't leave $100 bill sitting on your seat, would you?

Park next to a nicer car than yours.

Don't drive around with your windows down and your stereo blaring - it's not only annoying to people who don't like what you listen to, but it lets everyone in the area know you've got something worth stealing.

Tint your windows as dark as possible. My SUV has 5% on every window but the front two. Even with my head pressed against it on a sunny day I can barely see the outline of what's in it; thieves like to KNOW they're going to get something for their trouble - if they can't see anything, they're more likely to move on.

Yeah, it sucks, but because the police everywhere don't care about car burglaries (they've never even sent out a cop when my vehicleS have been broken into - just take the report over the phone) YOU have to do all the work - the second you drop your guard, you'll get hit.

Of course, you could do all of these things and still get your car broken into or stolen - there's no guarantee. I just know that since I started doing things like this I haven't had a single burglary.

Buy an old junker for doing errands, and misc things with.

It's a shame, that society's come to this.

An alloy frame .45 however can be a nice addition.....
Tridium sights, ported barrel.
I'd stay way from too light of trigger thou. :)

You are right, I am at fault for being mostly lax about it. Thats overwith, Ive had enough of my things stolen.

Its a pain in the ass, Im gonna have to work more because of them either way, either to replace my stuff or go out of my way to protect my stuff it seems like.

Im probably not gonna put another stereo in the car (my firebird) its too loud to hear very well anyway
