Only does it after its been running a while and everything is up to temp.
New engine and Caspers wiring harness in the car, grounds are upgraded and secure.
New alternator and 4 gauge power wire.
Starter stud and fusible links secure.
Voltage under hood 14.1 and 13.2-7 in the car.
It happens randomly...at idle in traffic car will stall and and does not want to start back up. Almost like the chip jumps back into antitheft even tho it's disabled. But, will eventually restart after several attempts and going through antitheft procedures.

Driving at speed feel the car die and the SES flashes for a blip and then all is well.

I have logged this and all info in power logger drops completely just for that instance and comes right back.

Ignition switch is my next check as I have cleaned the c100 connector and fuses, ECM feed by battery checked and its good. Also, chip socket and power logger card connections.

With that said the chip, ECM and/or pl could be a issue on electronic internal level with heat I guess.

Any ideas

Sounds like the system is loosing voltage, if everything drops like that. Double check your connections at the battery, not only tightness but cleanlyness.

I had just finished reviewing my powerlogger because I have the same thing happening (the quick blip while driving)

The log shows everything dropping t0 0 for about .2 second then back to normal. No codes. Ive tightened the grounds and replaced the coilpack and ign. module.

Only thing Ive done to the car recently is replacing the Direct scan with powerlogger. I will let you know if I find the gremlin

Thx dave...checked and they are clean and secure.

Thanx sounds like identical issues.

Yeah. Going to try another ecm as well. And the balancer and crank sensor are secure

turboNasty,
I installed another ECM and took of to BPG. After about 14 hours of run time I had no hiccup at all.

Hope your solution is something simple like this

X2 on ecm, pay close attention to plugs at ecm...make sure teminals are clean and TIGHT... also x2 on pl connection inside ecm...

try pulling the PL out a little. there have been a few ECMs that didn't like the PL fully seated. Make sure there is no pressure being put on the PL when the ECM is reinstalled in the kick panel.

make sure the chip socket fingers are tight, you can remove the chip and bend the fingers out with a pin or other small instrument.

I have also seen a positive battery cable grounding to the frame/engine/header do stuff like this.

thanx guys....Been on vaca and will try the ecm...pl and chip. Positive cable is good checked it

Just got done chasing a little gremlin like this. Turned out the negative battery cable was loose at the battery. The battery shakes a little bit at idle, and every once in a while, the negative cable would lose contact. Voltage would drop, ECU would reset, fuel pump would slow down, and sometimes the car would stall.

It was such an obvious thing that I didn't think to check it until I wasted a lot of time...

Good Luck,

Mike

Funny how these thing happen in bunches.
I had voltage drops down as low as 0.6 and spikes as high as 20.9 as per scanmaster. Most of the time voltage would drop to 6.5 engine would stumble then kick back in.

when Dan was playing with cam senser wire that would duplicate the problem.
