I would say was blown apart being that there's a huge gap between the links. I was able to get the car into the garage and as far as I know the fuse has not blown. So far nothing has jumped out at me. I will recheck tomorrow. When I have a little more time in better lighting

For the fuse readers amongst us lol. This fuse did its job. I'm still curious as to what was worn off on my fuse box it is the fuse below the 10 amp that says CCCI. Guess I now know what it goes to. Thank you for the PDF Earl. Looks like I'll be hunting a ghost at this point. What exactly do the injectors draw for amperage? I have 38 pound injectors on there. The fuel pump motor itself no longer no longer draws from that, comes right off the alternator. I cannot imagine with those small injectors that they to be the culprit

Possibly the injector harness. No expert here just guessing.

If you unplug the injector harness just behind the coil pack area you can split the circuit basically in two, injectors separated from fuel pump.

If the fuse isn't blowing right away at key on with a dead short that won't help you much.

Trace the gray fuel pump priming wires at the oil pressure switch in the front of the motor, and by the drivers side header just behind the alternator it's a single gray wire with a one cavity connector.

It usually will short out on the header and melt to ground and blow the fuse.

Same with the gray wire at the oil pressure switch.

Assuming a 1986 is close to a 1987 in wiring....

On the '87 cars it's a 15A fuse in that location so there may be some differences or perhaps the wrong fuse was used in your car since the lettering is worn off of it.

Ya, that's the FP/INJ fuse I told you about. It's supposed to be a 15 amp fuse, but I see your blown fuse is a 20. ???

So some issue in the fuel pump circuit or injector circuit is at issue.

Check the prime wire behind alternator. I've seen them melt on the header and ground out.

Also check the plug on the oil pressure sensor.

Wanted to update this thread. I have yet to find the gremlin that caused the fuse to blow. I have been very weary to drive the car since this incident.Took her out for about a 20 mile cruise with no issues.... Odd in my opinion
