Wow...not bad. I never figured the '04 GTO's to go that quick.
I still haven't had one bite against the Cobra.

In fact I have a friend that went 12.4 at 112.4 in a bone stock 03 cobra so there is no arguing they are quick. But AVERAGE mph is 108-111 or so. Sorry but they do not bone stock with out any changes run 115 or even 114. There may be a few freaks that made 114 on a really cold night or something but it is by no means the average or even close. They are capable of mid 12s off the show room, but they typically run 12.8-13.2 at 108-111 bone stock. Make a few small changes like a cold air kit and x/h pipe and 115 becomes doable but not until then. I don't really see where i was incorrect at all?
I think you and Lee are both on the same page, but may have different experiences regarding what you've actually seen at the track.
Here are the facts on my car, since it was discussed at length (and my ears weren't even burning

).
Bone stock, the car made 364rwrhp/353rwtq at about 1100 miles. Silencer was pulled off the car, yielding a loss of 1rwhp.
Second trip to the track (Atco), on June 4th '04, it went 12.6.
Breakdown is as follows:
60' 1.956
330' 5.408
1/8 8.229
mph 87.74
990' 10.568
1/4 12.665
mph 111.83
Temp at the track, as Lee can attest, was in the upper-60's/low-70's, humidity ~50%, baro in the low 29.xx" (as listed on the previous run's slip from 45 minutes earlier...not weather data on the 12.6 slip). Ran a couple other 12.8's that night on worse short times and similar mph.
Went 12.7@111mph a week later in absolutely crummy air. 71*,
94% humidity and 29.15" barometer.
DA on the 12.6 was probably around 1600', on the 12.7 it was probably ~2000" or so.
Ran a few more 12.8's over the next month or so, fighting traction problems and crappy air.
November 10th I ran again. It was in the low-40's, very dry. A friend there with his 11.3 LS1 F-body said the baro was over 30.0". First pass I wheelhopped badly. At this point, the car had ~16k miles on it (19.8k on it as of today), and the stock F1's were worn. First pass was a miserable 14.3@109mph wheelhopping through 1st and 2nd.
I hotlapped the car and switched lanes. Car was still semi-cool from sitting in the pits waiting for the lanes to open for 90 minutes.
I launched the car easier, no wheelspin and thus, no wheelhop.
60' 2.304
330' 5.814
1/8 8.567
mph 90.31
990' 10.848
1/4 12.885
mph 115.13
No mods, stock F1's. I pedaled the car hard in 1st, grannied 2nd and didn't go WOT till midway through that gear.
I let the car cool, made another crack and blew off the tires in 2nd gear on the way to a 13.00@112mph.
I hotlapped and was lined up against who I believe was Herb Fishman (from this board) in his GNX.
I left harder, caught a harder 1-2...and freaking missed 4th gear with the damn stock shifter.
60' 2.255
330' 5.704
1/8 8.448
mph 90.36
990' 10.880
1/4 13.493
mph 85.01
You'll note the 1/8 mile times and 90mph 1/8th.
At this point, I realized it was a futile effort. Traction was nonexistent for me, and I wasn't going to hook the car. I ran another 12.8 at 113mph and a tirespinning 13.0@113mph.
I'm done shooting for ET in a stock car. I have to replace the factory F1's, and I'm not using the same tires...by that definition, the car is no longer stock anyway. I put in a CAI and Steeda Tri-Ax. I also have a set of MT ET Street Radials (275/40-17's) on a set of stock Cobra wheels. I'd like to get low-12's on a CAI and DR's, but I also have a few mods to go on the car (ported blower/TB/plenum, pulley/idler).
12.4@112.4 is flyin'!
