car hesitates check engine light flashes

When I stick my foot into my 86 t type and build boost, the check engine light comes on and then quickly goes off, and at the same time the car totally cuts out for a moment and the resumes running. It does not do this all the time, and seems to do it more often after I just start driving. It has good fuel pressure, and a new LS1 MAF. I do have the trans plus, but use the jumper wire on it because it will throw a code 42 if I have the timing control hooked up.

I am thinking that it is ignition related possibly. Coil pack? Module?

What are your thoughts?

Yes, I scanned for a code, and no code is set.

i think the check engine light comes on only when a sensor is out of range. so in other words it would only throw the code when that happened l;ike you said. maybe your tps or iac is bad.

I had my ats sensor out of range a few weeks ago, but the code remained for several days without the light.
