im just wondering how u guys r going about ur cat dump/test pipe setups ? i have a 3 " mease dp i also have the dump that it came with that slips over the downpipe with a 4 bolt flange on the oppisite end i cant seem to find a 3 " cat with this slip in to go over my dp wat im wondering is for those of u that have to pass emmisions are u guys butting the 3 " cat to the 3" dp then using a band clamp ? or is it a 3" cat that flares up and slips over the dp and then using a stepped ban clamp? im also thinking if u use the slip connection at the dp wen u go to switch one out for the other the dp has to b removed in order to have clearance to pull it off so that the 4 bolt flange on the exhaust wont b in the way right? thanx

I used my buddies stock DP and stock cat with Erics(TT)emissions chip, passed the first time using 100 oct unleaded fuel. Then I just restalled my ATR DP and race pipe,if you dont have one maybe someone in your area has one you can barrow.Hope that help, ikle.

I had a 3" THDP and had the cutout/testpipe on it all the time. Had to change my registration & then start doing emissions testing so I found that Reds (I think) had a 3" cat to slip fit a THDP and had the 4 bolt flange. That worked OK for a while, the slip fit wasn't very "user friendly". I found a great deal on a 3.5" THDP and got that, then ordered a 3.5" band clamp set up. So now I have the cut out with a band clamp fitting on one side, the 4 bolt flange on the other and also have a cat with a band clamp fitting on one side and the 4 bolt flange on the other. Literally takes less than 5 minutes to swap cat for dump pipe.

If you cannot find a cat specifically for the Mease, order the shortest 3" cat you can, a band clamp set up and take the cat/test pipe to a muffler shop & have them do their thing. As long as you drive out of the shop with the cat on, they shouldn't give you any issue.

thats wat im looking for a qwik swap between cat and my dump so let me ask u ROC87 where u have ur cat and test pipe band clamped to the down pipe at that joint are they still slip ons over the dp or do they just butt together and held in place with the band clamp?

Guess they are technically "V-band clamps", they butt together and the clamp holds everything in place, guess the only thing that would make it faster to swap out would be wingnuts on the 4-bolt flange:D

I'd take a pic for ya but the GN is in storage in my parents garage:(

I got the v bands off a vendor on ebay (Claimed they were stainless, couldn't have been for the price I paid) since summit/jegs didn't have them at the time in a 3.5". If you have the test pipe & cat, you'll need one clamp and 3 flanges to match the clamp. Something like this then just request an extra flange.

interesting didnt think bout those that would work great thanx for the ideas and input as well as ikle
