Catalitic Converter Hanger Strap

I did a search on what to replace the rubber strap that attaches the converter to the hanger. I have tried various pieces of rubber and none seem to last long. What are ya'll using to solve this problem? Thanks for the help.

Mine just broke again on me too. I've heard some people suggest a piece of tire. I picked up a universal hanger from Auto Zone with a nice thick and reinforced rubber strap that I'm going to use just for the strap and put the hanger back together with that rubber in place. I think it was 3 bucks, came with a bunch of hardware if you had to fashion a hanger around the strap. I bought it just for the strap.

I used an old reinforced radiator hose and doubled it up. It still works after about 7 years.
