Hey guys,

I know this may seem like an odd question but i have to ask.. Does testing with the Caspers ignition Simulator and seeing good spark across the RPM range prove that the module and coil pack are good? Ive been trouble shooting a no spark and injector pulse issue for a while now and Ive replaced the crank sensor and tested the module but no luck. After following the no start trouble tree, it leads me to the CCCI Ignition connector from the harness or the module itself. My original wire harness was replaced with a used one due to it burning up. The one in use now is used. Everything is pointing to the harness now but need the opinion from the board.

Thanks

I'd say the harness is way more suspect than the coil and module if it passed the test.

Did you probe the harness connector for IGN voltages and Grounds?

I'd check the cam sensor and wiring next.

If it passed the test with the simulator, the car should at least start and drive with that pack/module assembly. I could see it breaking up under high cylinder pressure even after it passed the test, but it should run/drive.

I did probe the connector and it does have ign voltage. Will a Caspers cam sensor tool tell me if the cap is bad? Or is it only used to set the sensor. I was getting ready to buy one if it would help.

Im also using a noid light for testing injector pulse.

the caspers tester does not test all the signal paths thru the module. it only tests the system in bypass (cranking) mode.

Hey Bob, with that being said, the module still could be bad?

Thanks, good to know. Im going to see if i could use a known good one from a buddy. Just want to add, when i had the accident, there was an electrical fire that burned the driver side of the harness and the spark plug wires were also fried.

Hey Bob you were right!! The ignition module was bad on top of circuit 643 being pinched. Finally got spark and injector pulse!!!
