Yep he's doing that with stock untouched heads too I beleive.I myself am building a Chevy LUV hybrid right now with a 4.1.I listed the combo I am going to use on that site as well.I hope to see the same kind of performance.Mine will be less of a street vehicle though.I will try to keep the weight down around 2500#.The combo is not uncommon for a street driven GN in the 10s.Those are the guys that got me into it from reading about theirs.

Yeah I saw the thread you posted about your combo...... At 2500lbs that thing should really fly (9's should not be a problem at all)!

Good luck with it and let us know how it does:)

Hey Guys can you help me on this subject?

I have a 89 S-10 with 2.5 4cyl & 4:11 gears & 5 speed.

I often wonder what would it take to drop a TB motor & auto trans in it for street use.
I have also wondered about a SBC install.

Any websites about this subject for both motors?

The SBC swap into an S-Series, there's a lot of info out there. I've read that either Jegs or Summit sells a kit, including mounts, etc.

www.jagsthatrun.com Company that sells parts to do the v8 swap, and also has books on the subject. I have only heard good things about what they offer. No first-hand experience, though.

I'd think that much of the info could be applied to swapping either engine into the truck. There used to be someone on this site that was putting a 3.8 into an S-Series Pickup, I recall reading that a while ago, I'm sure it's been done for a while.

Unless you want your head to hurt alot :o go with the chevy motor! The GN is doable, but very taxing. See my website for the details.
