I dropped my new engine and new trans in the car last week. On the new parts list were transmission and fuel lines from Classic Tube and new poly mounts from HR PartsnStuff.
First the good. The new poly mounts are replacing very early HR PartsnStuff poly mounts. The old mounts were from the 2001 time frame. Everything in the car buzzed and rattled with those mounts. I thought people were crazy when they said that they didn't have any vibration problems with HR mounts. Well, now I can see what they're talking about. The new mounts are great. No buzz and no vibration. They even handle the rough idle from the 218/212 cam decently. Big thumbs up to Paul.
Now the bad. Classic Tube really let me down. The transmission lines needed bent to follow the factory path. The flare fitting on both ends of one line was too big to fit into the union so I had to file it down. The fuel lines weren't even close. The feed line needed bent substantially to follow the stock path down to the frame rail. I couldn't even use the return line. It was jammed up against the intake manifold so that I couldn't get it hooked up to the regulator. Then when I finally got it bent enough to fit, I found that the quality of the flare was so poor that it demolished the o-ring when I tried to tighten the line down. After destroying 2 o-rings I put the stock line back on. For what those SS lines cost they ought to be perfect.
Just a little product review for y'all.....
