Clean out convertor after sprag explosion?

Sprag exploded in rear of trans. lots of trash in pan and rear area of trans. Happened at launch and shutdown quick Do I need to have the convertor cut open and checked/cleaned?

I recommend it.

That would be the wise thing to do. Cheap insurance against future problems with your rebuilt transmission.
