Ok so I had my motor rebuilt after a slug rod bearing. Everything was cleaned and put back together except the turbo. Is the turbo something I can take apart at home, clean and put back together or are they a pain in the ass? any help would be great. Thanks Jeff

You can take the compressor housing off with no problems. Just take the 6 bolts out. You can clean it with brake clean or acetone. You can even polish the housing while its off.

I think he's talking about getting the crud out of the center housing rotating assembly that got fed into it from the oil line. I'd probably at least shoot a bunch of brake parts cleaner through it and blow it out for a few minutes with dry compressed air. That's about all I can think of, and I don't know for sure how reliably this will clean it out...I'm sure others that have done this type of cleanup will chime in...

Send it out since the thrust will be full of bearing material

Where would I send it out to be cleaned? does anyone know someone in MN that does this? thanks guys
